HRP Mamas Invites you to a workshop on:

"Setting Limits Effectively for Young Children - Ages 18 months to 4yrs"

with Meredith Gary and Kate Delacorte

Toddlers charm, mystify and frustrate in equal measure. How can adults learn to set consistent, sensible limits for children who range from malleable and eager to please one minute, to irrational and angry the next?  There are books and more books available that offer foolproof techniques or magic formulas to help parents eliminate unwanted behaviors, but there really is no one-size-fits-all solution.  When the magic formula doesn’t work for you, you may end up feeling more overwhelmed than before.

The conflicts and challenges of early childhood are an important part of your child’s development as a person and your own development as a parent.  Gaining knowledge about this unique phase of development can help you assert your authority more effectively and stay consistent in the face of even the most oppositional toddler behavior.

- How can I stop arguing with my toddler?
- How can I make transitions from one part of the day to the next happen without a giant tantrum?
- What do I do when my child says no to everything-- even the things that she loves?
- How can I tackle sleep struggles?
- How do I approach potty training?

Join early childhood experts Kate Delacorte and Meredith Gary for a gimmick-free discussion of these and other hallmark challenges of parenting toddlers.  Kate & Meredith will share stories from their decades of working with young children and their families and will provide parents with a context for understanding this important and exciting time in a child’s life.

About the Speakers:

Meredith Gary and Kate Delacorte are Co-Directors of the Downtown Little School.  With, respectively, 20 and 35 years of experience,  Meredith & Kate have supported hundreds of children and families through the early childhood years.  They lead several workshops each year on limit-setting and related topics.
